EMPINGHAM PARISH COUNCIL (EPC)

TWO OPEN PUBLIC DISCUSSIONS

ON POSSIBLE DEVELOPMENT FOR EMPINGHAM TO 2041

THURSDAY 2 March 7pm-9pm at the Cricket & Social Club

and

MONDAY 6 March 2pm-4pm at Empingham Methodist Church

Local Parish Elections will be in May 2023 to elect up to 9 councillors. The present councillors will have completed their term of office. The purpose of the "discussions" is to seek and record resident's views to guide the present and incoming Parish Council.

The new Rutland Local Plan (to 2041) includes a call for sites for possible development (at this stage all that means is that the sites have been put forward for possible development from 2026 to 2041). These include;-

land to the north and south of Whitwell Road towards Oakham,

land on Exton Road north of Highfield Close and the Dovecote field,

the farm on Main Street, and

land east of the A1 at Woolfox Depot (in Empingham Parish)

Residents may also state what is important to them about living in Empingham e.g. the rural location and the services available as well as properties for communal resources in Empingham (the Medical Centre, the Primary School, the pub) that make it contribute to the Village being designed a "Local Service Centre" by Rutland County Council.
